Special Theory of Relativity (STR) implies a wide range of consequences, which have been experimentally verified including length contraction, time dilation, relativistic mass, mass–energy equivalence, a universal speed limit the speed of light.

 

Einstein in his well-known paper on Special relativity in 1905, he considered that when two clocks were brought together and synchronized and then one was moved away and brought back, the clock which had undergone the traveling would be found to be lagging behind the clock which had stayed put. Einstein considered this to be a consequence of time dilation Special relativity, not a paradox.

 

Einstein discovered special relativity in 1905 with Minkowski providing his graphical representation in 1908.

The first diagram used a branch of the unit hyperbola t^2-x^2=1, thus illustrating time dilation.

Max Born in 1920 drew Minkowski diagrams by placing the ct′-axis almost perpendicular to the x-axis, as well as the ct-axis to the x′-axis, to demonstrate length contraction and time dilation in the symmetric case of two rods and two clocks moving in opposite direction.

Values for Lorentz factor γ:

 

For v/c = 0.1,  γ = 1.005

For v/c = 0.5,  γ = 1.155

For v/c = 0.9,  γ = 2.294

 

How you can see γ only starts to become large at speeds close to c.

In an electron accelerator used to treat cancers, the electrons have an energy of 20 MeV. The speed of such electrons is 0.9997c and γ is 40.

 

The length of any object in a moving frame will appear contracted in the direction of motion, length contraction.

 

At CERN from 1959 to 2023, all the scientists, all Nobel Laureates did not understand particle collisions, they did not understand what they collide!

They did not understand what the electron is; they did not understand what the proton is.

            T > T1, time contraction not time dilation
