Dark matter is a hypothetical form of matter to account for approximately 85% of the matter in the universe.
Lord Kelvin concluded "many of our stars, perhaps a great majority of them, may be dark bodies". In 1906 Henri Poincaré in "The Milky Way and Theory of Gases" used the term ‘matière obscure’ in discussing Kelvin's work.
The photons mediate electromagnetic interactions between particles in the Standard Model (baryonic matter); in the same way dark radiation, Dark Photons mediate interactions between Dark Matter particles.
